An official BMW document (in German) revealed the first official image of the M3 facelift just a few days after the 3-Series made its official debut.
Even if the current M3 made its official debut in March 2008, BMW already decided to bring a facelift version of the car on the market. But for those who already bought the old version, don’t worry, there are not so big changes!
According to the same document, the M3 sedan will receive a discreet refinement, a modified design of the start-stop button and chrome applications on the interior.
BMW will unveil the M3 CLS in 2010, in the same time with the facelifted 2010 M3. All the standard equipment will be dropped in order to loose weight: no radio, no navigation system and no air-conditioning.
The front apron, hood, roof, side panels and rear bumper will be made out carbon in order to loose weight.
Under the hood BMW will place an updated version of the standard 4.0L V8 engine, that will now deliver 470 hp. The M3 CSL will make the 0-60 sprint under the 4.5 seconds while top speed will be around 185 mph.
World debut will be made at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Almost a year after Gerhard Richter, M division vice-president, confirmed that BMW will unveil the long-waited M3 CSL, AutoZeitung revealed the first photoshop with the future model.
According to the German magazine the M3 CSL will feature not only an improved design, with carbon fiber body and a new front bumper, but will be completely different to the M line-up.
The performance will also be improved; from what we can understood from the low-res image, it will make the 0 to 60 mph sprint in 4.5 seconds.
BMW will unveil the facelift version of the 3-Series, including the M versions, this autumn at the Paris Motor Show. And the latest spy shots revealed the almost undisguised version of the M3 sedan.
The M3 will feature a new front fascia with a new bumper, modified fog lights and a differently sculpted bonnet. And there will be new tail lamps, too, plus we expect an updated cabin and emission-optimzed engines.

The alpine white BMW M3 Coupe was handed over to a customer in Regensburg.

The anniversary vehicle marks a further milestone in the success story of the BMW M GmbH. The number of customers who choose to purchase a BMW M model still continues to grow. Nevertheless, driving a car boasting the M logo remains an exclusive experience. In the year 2007, BMW M GmbH automobiles accounted for around one percent of the BMW Group’s overall turnover worldwide.
The tremendous success of the BMW M GmbH began with a limited production car. In 1978 the company, which was established six years previously as the BMW Motorsport GmbH, presented a mid-engine racing car, featuring a straight six-cylinder power unit that was utilised in the newly founded ProCar series. The car was also produced for reasons of homologation with a 277 bhp road version.
Like the 3-Series Sedan, the M3 will also receive a facelift. The proof are the spy shots made in Germany that prove the car is already testing.
The new M3 sedan will be getting the same LED taillights that were already spotted on the 3 Series facelifted models, but this are only one of the most changes we will see in the next car.
Even if we can’t tell you the exact dates of the unveiling, we can tell you that the first details will be released sometime in 2009.

Matthes posted some pretty cool pictures of their work on the BMW 3 Series. The tunning company offers high quality build using the best tuning part providers such as AC Schnitzer. Aside of the usual coupe and sedan work, they are showing a very cool station wagon ’germans style’: 21’ wheels, rear air diffusor, M package, full body kit and the double exhaust system. Wagon love, right there !
Hamann, the well-known German tuning company unveiled its latest tuning programme for the Bmw M3. In order to increase the power on the V8 engine, Hamann choosed to add first 20 hp and if the customers want to, the second level of tuning can offer 35 hp. In the first level the car is capable to reach 300 km/h while the second level can offer a top speed of 320km/h.
At the exterior, the tuner offers a sportive-dynamic front spoiler, rear skirt and spoiler, side skirts and the shapely roof spoiler. According to the manufacturer all the parts are offerred at a price starting from 2,400 euros.
